Remember, September is still prime festival season in Chicago. Nights are crisp and cooler, and despite all the public pools closing, it's still a great time to hit the beaches. Farmers Markets are at their peak, and neighborhood harvest fests are popping up around town. Fall is one of the best times to live in The Windy City. This weekend, we have some tough choices to make. Here are a few of our top picks.
Thursday: 9/10-13 Redmoon Theatre spectacle concert The Last of My Species
Saturday: Hideout Bloodshot Records BBQ with proceeds to benefit 826CHI and Rock for Kids
Sunday: Kiddieland final count down to closing. Melrose Park gem, Kiddieland, is a nostalgic trip back to
70's metal flake dune buggies
and wooden roller coasters.
The next few weeks are their last.
Here's a link to the Kiddieland Amusement Park group on Facebook. Photo link to pictures I shot last October on Facebook Mine are #s 14-25.
Despite numerous fan groups like Save Kiddieland and RIP Kiddieland, days are numbered for this slice of Chicago history. Come bid Kiddieland a fond farewell.
