Join Logan Square's own Multilingual Chicago for two afternoons of games, songs and fun en español this Saturday and Sunday (1-4 PM) at the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival. These free sessions on the Paseo Prairie Garden Stage (located just outside the Logan Square el stop at Kedzie and Logan Boulevards) also include cool giveaways and discounts for language classes at Multilingual Chicago. - MAAF Gardening & Urban Agriculture Fair:
Grow It, Eat It, Compost It
Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25 from noon to 5 PM
Observe demonstrations, participate in hands-on activities and learn about gardening and urban agriculture from community practitioners. Whether you are already growing your own food in the city, or looking for inspiration, check out growing and composting models for the urban environment.

Our first “Bike the Farm” Tour is scheduled for Friday, July 30, 2010. Come see what’s growing in Humboldt Park!
Cob Connection invites you to take a biking tour of our four urban farm sites.
Follow the evolution of a local food system from abandoned lot to emerging farm to local markets and food pantries.
Ride a refurbished bike from the Working Bikes Cooperative, or bring your own.
Finish with a locally grown vegetarian meal in our candlelit garden.
The cost to attend this event is $20. This donation helps support our green jobs programs, costs of supplies and staff time.

10th Annual Chicago Dragon Boat Race For Literacy.
Saturday, July 24th at Ping Tom Memorial Park 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
300 West 19th Street (19th.St. and Wentworth Ave.), along the south branch of the Chicago River in Chinatown.
This free daylong event kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with an Awakening the Dragon and Lion Dance Ceremony.
“The Dragon Boat Race is a beautiful, colorful, and fun way for all Chicagoans and visitors to enjoy a summer day. We invite everyone to join us for this unique and exciting event to experience the fascinating Chinese culture,” said Mabel Moy, President of the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce.
27 teams will compete on the Chicago River in beautifully decorated dragon boats, each consisting of 20 members:
18 paddlers, 1 drummer and 1 flag catcher. The 18 paddlers, each with an oar, row to the beat of the drummer, while
the flag catcher of each team pulls a flag positioned in the water at the finish line. The top 2 winning teams will race
for the championship. In addition to the boat tournament, the day will consist of family-fun activities and
entertainment, with food, crafts and corporate vendors; musical and dance performances; special appearances by
members of the touring Cirque Shanghai – Cloud 9; Ronald McDonald; Chicago Bulls Mascot, Benny the Bull;
Chicago White Sox Mascot, South Paw; and a children’s area with inflatables.
The Chinese Dragon Boat Race has a history of over 2,000 years and is a popular sport amongst Chinese
American communities all over the nation.
Visitors are encouraged to take public transportation to the event. Public parking will be limited.
