As a blonde haired, blue eyed smart girl, I lived with dumb blonde jokes and stereotypes all my life.   I'm hoping to take my blonde haired, blue eyes MIL to check out Legally Blonde with me.   I know she loved the movie.

She gave birth to two dark haired boys, and I'm the blonde daughter she never had.   Of course, after I also gave birth to a dark haired boy and was pregnant with our final child, she said, "That better be a girl or you're out of the family."   I told her, I had nothing to do with it.   That was all on her dark haired son.   Lucky for me, Sagezilla was a girl, albeit a rough and tumble tom boy of a girl,   and I'm still in the family.

This movie was a hoot and I'm excited to see how it translates to the stage.   ChiIL Mama will be there opening night with a full report.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will return to the Chicago area with performances Dec. 3- 5 at the Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road.  Tickets are now on sale.

Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious,” Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to oneself never goes out of style.

In its first year on Broadway, LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations, ten 2007 Drama Desk Award Nominations, and a 2007 Outer Critics Circle Award.  The musical also ranked in the top ten list of the most requested Ticketmaster “Arts & Theatre Events” for 2007. LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL received three 2009 Touring Broadway Awards in New York City on May 4, 2009. The show won awards for Best New Musical, Best Production Design and Best Choreography of a Touring Production.

In the fall of 2007, MTV aired LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL in its entirety to stellar ratings and was subsequently nominated for two 2007-2008 Daytime Emmy Awards.

As on Broadway, Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell is the director and choreographer. Music and lyrics are by both Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and the book is by Heather Hach.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will take you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway's brightest new heroine (and of course, her chihuahua, Bruiser). The verdict? This much fun shouldn't be legal!

Tickets, which range in price from $24.50 - $59.50, are now on sale.  Performances are Friday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased can be purchased online at www.rosemonttheatre.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.  Tickets are also available for purchase at the Rosemont Theatre box office and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
