We also have 1 family 4 pack to 500 Clown, Trapped, at Adventure Stage Theatre.    We had the pleasure of checkin' out their Saturday afternoon performance and loved it.    We'll have a full review up this week.   Don't miss this limited run powerhouse of a 3 person show.    We've loved 500 Clown for years, but this is their first children's show.   So come check it out.

Like so much else in life...it's all interconnected.    This is so true in the Chi Town theatre scene.   We already knew that this production was conceived by Chicago dad, Adrian Danzig, whom ChiIL Mama will be interviewing in the near future.   His wife, Leslie, is the Producing Artistic Consultant for Trapped and she's also very involved in a host of amazing Chicago shows.    Currently, she is co-directing The Better Half, a dance-theater production with Julia Rhoads/Lucky Plush Productions, which will premiere at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Fall 2011.   We've known them since his older son was in preschool with Sagezilla.

The coinkidinks don't stop there.   We were thrilled to find out that the 500 clown girl, Leah Urzendowski,  is married to Anthony, who teaches our kids at CircEsteem, and who is featured in our upcoming video interview with That's Weird Grandma by Barrel of Monkeys!    A little bird also told me Adventure Stage Theatre's Producing Artistic Director, Tom Arvetis, was also a monkey and is still an Emeritus Company Member with Barrel of Monkeys.

Just by chance, we had seats next to Tom and his young daughters, at Broadway in Chicago's Peter Pan 360 last Wednesday.   The show was purely magical and we'll have a full review up this week.   Adrien said he has a number of adult theatre students of his in it and can't wait to check it out.

Tim, the 3rd ensemble member, is just a friend we hadn't met yet, but a veteran of some of our favorite theatre and music.    He's performed with Blue Man Group (who quote ChiIL Mama's review in their current ads) and our favorite punk marching band, Mucca Pazza, whom we've blogged a bunch about for years.    He's also in Leslie's Lucky Plush production mentioned above.

The real live Chicago theatre scene is kinda like a soap opera...but with better production values.   Read more about these fun folk HERE.

World Premier!

500 CLOWN TRAPPED
A co-production between Adventure Stage Chicago and 500 Clown
Conceived by Adrian Danzig
Directed by Paola Coletto
May 6 - May 21, 2011

Experience 500 Clown's signature mix of high physicality, raw emotion, and powerful storytelling! Three clowns explore what it truly means to be trapped...and to be set free. Who sets these traps? Who benefits from them? Are they even real? Using slapstick mishaps, vaudevillian turns and untiring resilience, the clowns struggle to move beyond their own limitations as they search for the answers they need. Commissioned by The College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University.

SUNDAY, MAY 15: FITL’S BRUNCH & BOOGIE: A MAGIC CARPET RIDE
Finally, we have 1 last late breaking ticket give away running.   Families in the Loop has their 2nd Brunch & Boogie ready to go this Sunday and we have 4 tickets for 1 lucky winner.    Check out our photo filled recap from the first one right HERE.   Word is, they DO have a menu of brunch selections
worked out with Lincoln Hall
for the littles and parents.   We were so busy running around with the camera the last time, that we didn't see the menus and missed out.

So, be sure to enter for your chance at free tixs to these 3 fun events.    And spread the word, 'cause Mama says good things come to those who share.
