One Amazingly Fun Showcase Down, Two to Go:

On June 26th, 75 incredibly talented girls graced the stage at Metro, performing original songs they had written with their bands during camp week. Thanks to everybody who was there to cheer them on. Thanks also to photographer Sarah Vaun for being on hand to capture some great photos, as featured on the Time Out Chicago Kids blog.

Since the camper showcases are the best place to experience what Girls Rock! and Ladies Rock Camp are all about, we hope you'll save the date for our next two inspirational performances.

End-of-Camp Extravaganza, Session Two:

Volunteers Needed for Girls Rock and Ladies Rock Camps

GR!C’s June camp session was a tremendous success thanks to the many dedicated volunteers who made it possible. We are thrilled to welcome many of them back to our second session of girls' camp, August 1-5, but have some openings for new volunteers as well. If you have a few hours a day to fill the role of instrument instructor (am only), or band coach (pm only), then we'd love to have you on board! Worried that you lack musical proficiency? No problem. Our counselors work with and inspire the girls all day long but need not play an instrument. Roadies and foodies, of course, are everybody's best friends. We are also in need of additional volunteers - especially instrument instructors - for our Ladies Rock Camp, July 22-24. Both Ladies and Girls camps take place at Josephinum Academy in Wicker Park.

If you fit the bill for any of our positions and want to pitch in, fill out a volunteer application or email: volunteer@girlsrockchicago.org
