Emily the Strange USB Flash Drives Released Today

Mimoco Expands Emily the Strange MIMOBOT® Series
at New York Comic Con 2011

Mimoco and Cosmic Debris introduce two new Emily the Strange MIMOBOT® USB flash drive designs at New York Comic Con 2011

As a member of the press, I've gotta say a lot of creative flash drives come my way at various events.    I've got Sky Deck drives shaped like the Willis Tower (or Big Willie-the tower formerly known as Sears).    I've got a 3D Strawberry from The California Strawberry Commission, one from Marbles the Brain Store and a big wooden clip from TJ Maxx.   I've got drives from the island of Kauai, Indonesia,  and my favorite--a USB that flips up into a Press laminate from Blueman Group.    Still, I was pretty stoked to see Mimoco's cool new offering.    We adore Emily Strange.    She's great for all the anti-princesses in your life.    Check out People are Strange and Save Yourself.

Mimoco (www.mimoco.com), makers of the MIMOBOT® line of designer USB flash drives, and iconic teen brand with attitude, Emily the Strange, have teamed up to introduce a co-branded Emily the Strange MIMOBOT series. Featuring two striking designs, "People Are Strange" and "Save Yourself", the co-branded MIMOBOT® drives are available in capacities up to 64GB. The drives also come preloaded with Mimoco's bonus Mimory™ digital media suite which includes an Emily the Strange ebook, and MimoDesk™ desktop personalization with wallpapers, icons, and avatars. The new Emily the Strange designs will be showcased and available for purchase at Mimoco's New York Comic Con booth #775 beginning on October 13.

Created in 1993 by artist Rob Reger, Emily the Strange has since become an internationally renowned icon for individualism, determination, and do-it-yourself style. The MIMOBOT® x Emily the Strange designs draw from two of the brand's most iconic images of self-empowerment:

"People Are Strange": Emily the Strange gets it. And you get it, too. The Emily the Strange "People Are Strange" MIMOBOT boasts a groovy, psychedelic style reminiscent of a great concert poster. Emily's signature deadpan expression stares out from the MIMOBOT, daring anyone who tries to tangle with your data. The "People Are Strange" MIMOBOT stores your music, photos, and documents but it's also a statement that you carry with you always. People ARE strange, and that's cool.

"Save Yourself": The Emily the Strange "Save Yourself" MIMOBOT shows Emily as a masked crusader for self-empowerment. Don't sit around waiting for someone else to help you: save yourself. Emily's cape-wearing, injustice-fighting MIMOBOT will keep your data safe, transporting your music, photos, and documents. And maybe carrying it around will make you feel a little like a superhero too.

"Our MIMOBOT line of designer USB flash drives has always been all about self-expression and bringing personal design to tech devices. It's a perfect fit with Emily the Strange, a character who is nothing if not herself," says CEO and all around tech and design enthusiast, Evan Blaustein.

The Emily the Strange MIMOBOT® series is now available for purchase at Mimoco.com.
