Join Girls Rock! Chicago for a pair of exciting events. And who knows, maybe a used GR!C guitar will inspire a rockin’ Joan Jett get-up for Halloween. Check out some real Chi-Town girls who rock the stage and the Jr. roller derby! Our friend Violet's band, When Flying Feels Like Falling, is playing. ChiIL Mama has a video interview with the kids in the band and live footage of their set at Schubas earlier this year that we'll have up soon.
Girls Rock! Chicago Gear Day is back! Join us when we return to The Hideout for our 2nd annual all-ages party featuring live music from campers and volunteers, including:

All that, plus sales of gently used instruments being weeded from our inventory, and an opportunity for campers—Girls & Ladies Rock both—to pick up instruments rented through our popular gear loan program. For more information about gear, contact Melissa: mk@girlsrockchicago.org

The fine folks at saki have generously invited Girls Rock! Chicago to host a series of fun programs in their oh-so-fabulous store. First up is a screening of Girls Rock! The Movie, a must-see documentary about our sister camp in Portland. Du Jay and Sagezilla's Dad has been working with the Girls Rock! Doc director on another project, and we're trying to work out an interview/review. Word is she checked out ChiIL Mama and liked the blog. Maybe she'll come to Chi-Town and immortalize our rockin' girls next?!
We’d love for all interested campers, parents, siblings, and volunteers to join us for some inspiring viewing. Bring your own pillow to sit on. Popcorn & DJ dance party following the screening will be provided.
Upcoming Girls Rock! Events at Saki:
Sunday, November 20th- DJ workshop for ages 7-17
Saturday, December 10th- Girls Rock! Chicago 2011 cd release party
Sunday, January 15th- Zine Workshop
