Help Locally--Six Flags Great America School Supply Drive

More than 85% of Chicago Public School students come from low-income households, and this weekend you can help them out. Six Flags Great America is supporting Chicago Public Schools by having a Back to School Supply Drive August 16 and 17.

On these dates, any guest who brings five or more school supplies to Six Flags Great America’s front gate will receive a buy one get one free ticket. Guests can enjoy a great back-to-school value while helping thousands of students with their back-to-school supplies.

“Six Flags Great America focuses on families and this is an excellent opportunity to help less fortunate families with their back to school needs,” said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America Park President. “Every student in the Chicagoland area should be able to start their first day of school with their own backpack, pencils and notebooks, and this supply drive will help that.”

Six Flags guests are asked to bring five school supplies from the CPS school essentials list which includes two most needed items; backpacks and loose leaf notebook paper. Other items include pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, rulers and glue sticks. Donated school supplies will be brought to CPS and distributed to schools and students in need.
