Halloween Fun With American Girl, Monster Cake & More

Even American Girl Dolls dig Halloween!   Check out American Girl Place at Water Tower Place, Chicago for doll sized dress up fun.

Fall is one of our favorite seasons here at ChiIL Mama, and Halloween is one of our ultimate favs.   We love to play dress up and rock the costumes year round, but it's extra fun when millions more join us!    What are you going to be this year?

If party planning is what you love, try a doll party for a creative twist!

We were recently sent a copy of American Girl Magazine and Sagezilla poured through it and promptly hit the kitchen and mixed up an awesome monster cake!

The magazine's a NAPPA Gold winner and only $4.95 an issue and an even better deal if you subscribe to 6 issues.   It's full of fab features, crafts, recipes, articles about kids, rockin' American Girl Doll news and more.   Click here to read a sample on line.  There's even a holiday special on right now.

Something old...something new.   American girls today are tech savvy, and adept with computers.   Put your computer to great use as a tool for exploring the past.   American Girl has a great web site full of games, adventures and info about their historical line of girls and their modern sisters.   Check it out!

We particularly enjoy the Innerstar University fun on line and in the book series.   We also have fun with the historical games and activities.   My 9 year old daughter digs Caroline's fishing and sailing adventures, McKenna's high spin, Julie's punch buggy game and so many others.   You'll even find fun puzzles, mazes and American Girl versions of popular on line games.   There's even a parents and teachers button where you can find learning guides for schools and book clubs!
