FASHION WARS PRESENTS
“MY MINI ME” FASHION SHOW BENEFITING RAINN
Special guest appearance by Chicagolicious’ Katrell Mendenhall, pint-sized models strut their stuff for a good cause!
All fashionistas welcome, both big and small! On Sunday, March 10th from 2 – 5 p.m., join us for the “My Mini Me” Fashion Show presented by Fashion Wars featuring the top spring looks for kids with a twist…a style competition! Produced by creator and stylist Kesha Styles Wilson, trendy tots will walk the runway while families cheer for their favorite frocks and enjoy food, drinks, activities and more! Held at Lacuna Fitness located 645 S. Clark Street in Chicago’s South Loop, a silent auction will benefit RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). Kick off spring with this fun-filled, fashionable event for the whole family!
Featuring a “Carnival Couture” themed runway show, two competing stylists will have to use this theme as their focus for each mini model look. Creating 10 total looks, the stylists must also represent their individual style and personal vision. A panel of judges will rate on creativity, hair and make-up, accessories and combined fluidity of all elements. “I wanted to involve kids because children are very adorable, innocent and like a blank canvas you can dress from head to toe,” says Kesha Styles Wilson, creator of Fashion Wars. “I wanted to give these stylists the opportunity to see if they can transform these tiny muses into glam stars!”
In addition to the runway show, the event will feature many on-site vendors including children’s boutiques, activity stations and interactive games. After perusing, parents can take their kids to the activities area and head to the “parent zone,” an adult only area where they can indulge in tasty light bites and cocktails while their “mini me” enjoys the festivities!
The event will also feature a silent auction benefitting RAINN. “This issue is near and dear to my heart – I know there are thousands of other children, teens and adults who have been touched by RAINN in a way that has given them hope they never thought they would find again,” says Wilson. “So many things are happening to our children, which is why I feel so passionate and want to give back to such a great cause.”
Sponsors include: Oberweis, Urbansitter, Daylight Media, Paul Mitchell, Femme.forte Productions, Little Angels Culinary, Piggy Toes, Distinctive Ladies Events, Hearts and Ordinary People International.
Tickets are priced at $40 for General Admission (one adult and one child/additional children $10 each) and $65 for a Family Pass (two adults and two children). Priced at $75, families can purchase a Kiddie Couture VIP Pass, which includes a swag bag, premium seating and pre-show cocktail reception. Student tickets are priced at $25 with valid student ID shown upon arrival. Tickets available online at http://fashionwarskids-eorg.eventbrite.com/#.
This is a complete kids production...kid stylists, kid models, kid interviewers/red carpet paparazzi, etc. It's still a “fashion war,” just a fun competition, which gives them a chance to learn hands on and put their talents to work – they will be announced at the end so the focus is on them!

About Fashion Wars
Launched in 2012, Fashion Wars is a new kind of fashion show, pitting stylists against each other in a competition to see who has the better eye for fashion. Owned and operated by Kesha Styles Wilson, Fashion Wars was created to turn the spotlight on stylists, not just designers, looking to gain exposure in Chicago’s fashion community. Providing a platform for stylists to showcase their work, Fashion Wars gives them an opportunity to reach a broader audience while competing against other high fashion stylists. Who has the better eye for fashion? Is it YOU?
