ON AUGUST 9, HELP KIDS BE KIDS
THIS SUMMER BY CELEBRATING
FEED THE CHILDREN DAY
AT SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA
Proceeds from Tickets and On-Site Activities Directly Help Feed American Children in Need This Summer
Whether it’s sharing a funnel cake with a friend, taking a thrilling ride on the newest roller coaster, or meeting your favorite lovable characters, nothing screams “summer” like a trip to Six Flags. But for some kids, summer isn’t synonymous with carefree fun; summer means they don’t know when or where they’ll eat their next meal. That’s because the subsidized or free meals they rely on during the school year are not available during the summer break.
Feed the Children and Six Flags will offer several ways for park-goers to get involved on “Feed the Children Day” – August 9 – starting with the iconic Six Flags fountains. All coins tossed into designated fountains this summer will be donated to Feed the Children to help defeat child hunger in America.
As part of a friendly competition among 11 of the 16 locations, each park has a goal to raise $20,000 for child hunger on “Feed the Children Day.”
This special day will include:
· Kids’ Dance Hour: Held at [1:30pm] near the Feed the Children display in Hometown Square during “Feed the Children Day,” ambassadors will be providing information on the cause while leading guests in a fun dance-a-thon.
· Ticket Proceeds: $1.50 from every advanced ticket purchased and $0.50 from every ticket purchased at the gate on August 9 will go towards feeding children.
“Feed the Children Day” at Six Flags Great America is part of a nationwide series of events held this summer at all Six Flags theme park locations. The partnership, which will extend throughout the year, is part of Feed the Children’s renewed vision to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.
