Parting is such sweet sorrow. Here at ChiIL Mama and ChiIL Live Shows we caught CIRQUE DU SOLEIL’S KURIOS – CABINET OF CURIOSITESnot once but twice, and it's without a doubt one of our favorite Cirque shows. If you've seen it, go again. If you haven't, what are you waiting for?! GO already before the iconic blue and yellow tent in the United Center lot is just a sweet memory.

Cirque du Soleil’s is THE gold (and blue) standard in touring modern circus style shows and we can honestly say KURIOS is their latest AND greatest in our book. It was our great pleasure to get to shoot behind the scenes and catch up with one of the uber talented KURIOS Straps Artists for an exclusive video interview.

The iconic blue and gold tent will be packed up and shipped off to the next town after this Sunday. It's truly been a pleasure to host this talented troupe and we'll be eagerly anticipating the next Cirque du Soleil extravaganza to come our way. Catch their final Chicago shows this weekend or catch them on tour, down the road. Somehow, somewhere, don't miss THIS!

KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiositiesmade its Chicago premiere on August 6, 2015 and, due to overwhelming demand, was extended earlier this year.   Chicago critics have hailed KURIOS as “Not to be missed on any account” (Chris Jones, Chief Theater Critic, Chicago Tribune); “Wondrous. Hypnotic. An unparalleled flight of the imagination, and a glorious exploration of the physical limits of the human body” (Hedy Weiss, Theater and Dance Critic, Chicago Sun Times); and “Inventive, invigorating and gorgeous to look at” (Barbara Vitello, Theater Critic, Daily Herald).

KURIOS, where it's always 11:11:

Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiositiesis a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, reality is quite relative indeed as our perception of it is utterly transformed. The name of the show refers to the humble and strange characters that inhabit the Seeker’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

Two main characters from Cirque du Soleil’s latest Big Top production, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities - “Klara, The Telegraph of the Invisible” (Ekaterina Pirogovskaya) and “The Aviator” (James Eulises Gonzalez) - toured top Chicago sites in advance of the show’s imminent final performance
