Yes Ma’am Circus presents 12th Night: If Circus be the Food of Love, Play On! This new look at Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy features dazzling circus acts, gender-bending cast and characters, and a hefty dose of comedy. The play has been adapted from the original for time and circus needs by the Yes Ma’am cast and is directed by Yes Ma’am Executive Director Amancay Kugler.

When twins Viola and Sebastian are separated at sea, each assumes the other is dead. They both make their way to Illyria, where Viola disguises herself as a man and finds employment with the local Duke. Hilarity ensues as Viola (now Cesario) is sent off to woo the Duke’s love interest, Countess Olivia, who soon falls in love with Cesario, who is fast falling in love with the Duke. Meanwhile the clowns of Olivia’s household create their own romantic plots and pranks, and Sebastian wanders through town, creating a chaotic series of mistaken identities and misunderstandings, all wrapped up in a drama-filled final confrontation.

This hilarious adaptation of Shakespeare’s 12th Night incorporates much of the original text, and adds in shadow puppetry, clowning, and aerial acrobatics.
