There are Show Tunes and Then There Are Fro-Tunes:
*(What's an earworm you ask? It's a song that gets stuck on auto play in your brain, and keeps popping up whenever you're not actively thinking of something else. It's like an audio screen saver. There is no cure. The only way to end one earworm is to replace it with another. Disney On Ice presents Frozen has some of the catchiest tunes around. You're sure to find at least one that'll stick.)
Best. Photobomb. Ever.

ChiIL Mama was elated to be there for the opening night of Disney On Ice presents Frozen with several thousand little Elsas and one extremely excited 7 year old, Briaunna. Yes, I borrowed a child (and her dad and his girlfriend, a long time friend of ours.) This time around my husband and daughter were out of town and my nearly 14 year old son took a pass. It was SO much fun for me to sit by Briaunna, since her enthusiasm was contagious and she belted out every song. This is her adventure at Disney On Ice presents Frozen as much as my own.

ChiIL Fun:
We bring you ChiIL fun in Chi, IL and beyond and we highly recommend Disney On Ice presents Frozen. The Frozen production values were top notch and the indoor snow was a fun touch.
And the Frozen story line is awesome. FINALLY, we have a princess who isn't lying around in a coma, and/or awaiting rescue by prince charming! Thank you Disney. Girls can do selfless acts and thaw their own hearts, rock their magical powers, and NOT marry the first guy they meet, who may be a power grubbing slime ball.
This show's got it all--mighty girls, orphans, heroes, villians, giant snow beasts, magic, reindeer on skates, fire and ice... We particularly adored Sven--the goofy reindeer and his best bud, Kristoff and the trolls who raised him.
We're fond of fixer uppers and Anna, Elsa and Kristoff are great role models.
Amusingly enough, nobody at Frozen on Ice exclaimed "Elsa" when they saw my braid (which is a daily occurrence now in the real world, ever since she made my favorite go to hair style infamous). Seems the thousands of costumed mini Elsa minions were a great camouflage! Though I fear "Elsa hair" will become the "Princess Leia" hair for the new millennium. thirty plus years later and girls STILL can not wear two side buns without being called Princess Leia!
Really it would be Sven & Kristoff.... but that wasn't a dry erase option. Things got noticeably hotter on the ice when those two showed up! Mmmmmmmm.

We have mixed feelings about the lobby scene. It was quite commercialized and the charges for character photo ops were over the top, as were the aggressive and annoying people hawking vacation water park packages. They got in our faces at least 4 times as we made trips to the bathroom, etc. before the show and would not take no for an answer.
We won a small pack of kleenex from Meijer, took a free selfie, and Bri got a tiara comb and temp tattoo which was fun. The rest of the commercialization of the lobby scene was annoying and a bit much on top of all the usual merch and concession sales tables every few feet. Thanks Stonyfield, YoKids for the pre-show dance that got all the kids standing up and moving in a fun and playful way. Kudos for that.

It was fun to see all our Disney favorites before the story of Frozen began!

We also adored seeing Frozen on Ice begin the Frozen saga with the kids (and Sven the Reindeer and even Olaf) as young versions of themselves!
The fabulous sets, costumes and lighting added to the magic.
Kristoff and Sven are a couple of our favorite characters here at ChiIL Mama--eye candy for the parents and comic relief all in one dynamic duo.
